Imagined Landscapes in Silk and Steel
August 25th - September 27th
Works by Alycia Allen Tolmach and Thomas Hynes will be featured in Lavaun's community gallery, inside Alberta Street Gallery.
Created in antique Japanese kimono fabrics, Alycia's art quilts are uncharted dreamscapes of mood and aspiration. Using metal and glass, Tom’s sculptures are unhinged explorations of the forces of water and molten rock. |
Horizon Lines
August 25th - September 27th
Works by Alberta Street Gallery members Ilse Coffman and Lizzy Dalton will be featured in our front windows.
Ilse says of her work: "This new body of work is based on one of my favorite places, a family property in Northern Idaho. It is here that I feel especially grounded. The cool river, sunny meadows, granite mountains, and the milky-way night sky bring calm and an ease within. I have chosen rich neutral tones and because I work with ink on wet paper, I have used water from a well on the family propery to further embed the spirit of this place in the collection." Lizzy Dalton’s imaginary landscapes experiment with line, form, and composition to create dynamic scenes inspired by the artist’s love of spending time in the mountains and a desire to capture some of the feelings that these experiences evoke. |
