About Us
Alberta Street Gallery is an artist collective showcasing high-quality art from local, professional artists.
Alberta Street Gallery is a vibrant, professional artist collective featuring high quality work across many mediums and styles ranging from paintings to sculpture, ceramics, metalwork, photography, fiber, glass and jewelry. The Alberta Street Gallery is an integral part of the art scene in the Historic Alberta Arts District and greater Portland. Our work captures the imagination of viewers and is available at affordable prices. The gallery creates community through a unique art lending library, engaging artist talks and classes, and a meeting place for art lovers. The gallery is open daily and features regular art shows including "Last Thursday," when Alberta Street comes alive to show its unique character and talent.
The gallery was born in 2004 when a number of Saturday Market artists wanted to showcase their work for more than one day a week. Hence, the 6 Days Gallery was born on Alberta Street, open six days a week and with longer hours than the Market. The roster of artists changed over time as did the name, eventually becoming the Alberta Street Gallery. Long a mainstay of the District, the move up the street in the fall of 2018 to a much larger and better location at 1829 NE Alberta Street enabled the gallery to greatly expand the art on display, with 30 participating artists and a waiting list. A long-held vision to become more than a gallery but an actual gathering point for the community, both artists and art lovers, is now a reality.
