Rebecca is a lifelong creator, and clay is her first love. She majored in clay sculpture as an undergraduate. After graduation she became a video journalist, while maintaining a studio practice for many years. In her 30s, while working full-time in TV news, she earned a Master of Arts in Art and Consciousness - a deep dive into the universe of creativity. After leaving the news business and working as an independent filmmaker, she returned to clay full-time.
Since 2018 she has been working in her studio making hand-built functional and sculptural pieces, guided by the same curiosity that first drew her to the material in her teens. Rebecca is inspired by her surroundings, world events, and human nature. Often whimsical, her pieces look for the magic in the everyday and are brought to life with expression, color, and surface illustration.
Rebecca hopes her clay pieces resonate deeply with viewers and create a memorable moment.
