About the Artist
Raised and home-schooled in the redwoods by artistic parents, I found a love for nature and a constant desire to create with my hands. Sewing, knitting, traditional photography, leather-working, sculpture, carpentry, etc.. are just a few of the crafts that make up me. As a metalsmith artist, I engineer creations that capture nature's textures and incite carefree and playfulness. Every part of my jewelry pieces are hand-worked and often asymmetrical to share the knowledge of mark making. I practice the philosophy that imperfections are perfect and need to be witnessed and celebrated. I work with mostly brass, sterling silver, gold-filled, and real gold.
I received two majors in small metal/jewelry and sculpture from California College of the Arts, as well as a large skill set from nine years at Cabrillo Community College in Santa Cruz, CA. My garage studio in northeast Portland is my play place where I obsessively fabricate my metal treasures.
