Drawing and Painting from Observation

Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18, 25, 2025
7–9 pm

Instructor: Gabe Wolfe

This four-part course is a great offering for students who are starting their drawing and painting journey from scratch or who would like to enhance their practice with a refresh of some fundamental drawing and painting techniques. We will start the first class with drawing from observation, then will move into individual painting projects where students can choose to work from a shared still life, or may bring in their own images to reference. Together we will break up the many layers that build a rich painting into approachable steps, allowing you to build confidence and have fun with the process!

Materials supplied: 16 x 20 canvas, student-grade acrylic paints, brushes, and palettes. Please bring a large sketchbook or newsprint pad. Students are welcome to bring their own materials if they have a particular canvas size or have their own selection of paints they’d like to use.

Leather Plant Hangers

Thursday, May 22, 2025
7–9 pm
Instructor: Angela Morrow

In this hands-on workshop you will make two leather plant hangers to match your decor. Get creative with punching holes, tooling, or dyeing leather straps. Learn to set rivets, wax, and attach laces. Pots are not included, but feel free to bring your own, or I will have four, six, and eight inch pots on hand for sizing your creations.

Leather Keychain and Bracelet

Thursday, May 15, 2025
7–9 pm
Instructor: Angela Morrow

In this hands-on workshop you will make your own leather key chain and bracelet. You will work with pre-cut vegetable tanned leather. Then, you can personalize your leather with metal stamps, embroidery, or hand painted designs. Learn to dye your projects, or leave them natural, and watch them patina over time. Finally, learn to set rivets and snaps, wax, and burnish the edges of your projects.

Scrap Leather Collage Art

Thursday, May 8, 2025
7–9 pm
Instructor: Angela Morrow

Repurpose leather scraps into works of art in this hands-on workshop. Choose from an array of colors and shapes of leather or cut your own. Add your personal touches by tooling, embroidering, painting, or stamping letters. You are encouraged to bring your own decorative papers or collage ephemera to add to your design. Finally, you will collage them together with water based leather glue onto a 6" x 6" wood panel for your wall or shelf.

Botanical Watercolors

Saturdays, May 10, 17, 24, 2025 (3-session class)
8–10:30 am
Instructor: Mary Lyn Gough

Mother Nature is full of amazing textures, colors, shapes and patterns! I work in watercolors to gain the transparency of oils, the vibrancy of acrylics, and the beguiling nature of water in an attempt to control the uncontrollable. These classes focus on the movement of the paint and how to create light from the paper mixed with shadows to create 3-dimensional imagery. My techniques and class are appropriate for those just starting out, and seasoned watercolorists. Choose a bloom to paint and let's make a garden together! Please note, class is limited to 10 participants; register early.

Introduction to Papercutting

Saturday, May 3, 2025
9–11 am

Please note, in addition to the $75 class fee, there is a $25 materials fee, payable to the instructor at the start of the workshop. Class is limited to 10 participants; register early.
