My goal is to create work that is visually appealing and accessible on many levels. My style is derived from an interest in children’s books; primers, comics, and stories; all the simple visual devices we use as a culture to educate and socialize ourselves. The images in their pages always left me feeling like I should be learning something, even if I didn’t comprehend the words. Like those books, I want this work to hold the feeling the shadow of a story is there, whether or not my perspective is readily identifiable.
